HISTORY
WORLD HISTORY | This course presents a chronological narrative of world history from the Renaissance to the present, tracing their development in different parts of the world.
WORLD HISTORY (HONORS) | This course is designed for the college bound student who wishes to improve their skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, analyzing and forming opinions about the world’s historical developments.
AMERICAN HISTORY | This class covers American History from Imperialism through the 1970's.
AMERICAN HISTORY (HONORS) | This class is a more strict approach to detail and a much more in-depth discussion of the materials presented. This class is meant to challenge college bound students who are interested in social studies. American History will be covered beginning with Imperialism and continuing to the 1970’s.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT U.S. HISTORY (HONORS) | This class is a college level survey of US History from Indigenous history prior to 1492 and ends around the turn of the 21st Century. This course is based on the AP Curriculum and emphasizes analyzation and objective writing.

GOVERNMENT
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT | This course will give students a basic understanding of the principles of American democracy and representative government. This class is designed to look at the structure of the United States Federal Government with an emphasis on the Three Branches of Government, Political Behavior and Civil Rights and Liberties.
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT (HONORS) | This class begins with an emphasis on the basics of national government followed by a topical approach to government and the role of government in the life of an individual. This course is designed to challenge the scholastically serious student.
ADVENCED PLACEMENT U.S. GOVERNMENT (HONORS) | This course is designed for the student desiring a rigorous approach to the U.S. Government. Students will study the same material as in the survey and honors course but with a more in-depth approach.

ECONOMICS
BUSINESS ECONOMICS | Business Economics provides students with an overview of economics with primary emphasis on the principles of microeconomics and the U.S. economic system. The course includes topics such as economic systems, the role of government within the economic systems, international and comparative economics, consumerism, and entrepreneurship.
ECONOMICS (HONORS) | Honors Economics provides students with an overview of economics with primary emphasis on the principles of microeconomics and the U.S. economic system. These courses may also cover topics such as principles of macroeconomics, international economics, and comparative economics. Economic principles may be presented in formal theoretical contexts, applied contexts, or both.

ELECTIVES
WORLD GEOGRAPHY | This course will examine the geography of the world and the relationships between humans and humans and their environments, focusing on the climate, regions, populations, culture, and natural resources of the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia & Oceania.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT HUMAN GEOGRAPHY (HONORS) | This Advanced Placement Human Geography course will introduce students to the study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use and alteration of Earth's surface. In-depth concepts to be covered include population, political organization, agriculture and rural land use, industrialization and economic development, and cities and urban land use.
PSYCHOLOGY | This is one of the most fascinating of all subjects, the study of behavior. The student will explore what people do, how they think, and why they act as they do. Some areas of study are psychological methods, heredity and environment, personality disturbances, and the treatment of these disturbances. The second portion of this unit will focus on old age, dying, and death.
SOCIOLOGY | This course explores the ways people interact with one another. Sociologists study relationships with groups, such as your class, and examine relationships in social institutions, such as the family.
GENOCIDE & THE HOLOCAUST | Genocide and the Holocaust is a quarter-length history class for 11th and 12th graders who seek to understand the history of genocide with a particular focus on the Holocaust. Students will examine genocide: what is it, why is it perpetrated by people, what roles do people take on, and the history of specific instances of genocide.
WOMEN’S HISTORY | This course is a quarter-length history class for 11th and 12th graders who seek to study American History using the words and works of women. Using primary and secondary sources students will explore how women experienced important movements and events in U.S. history.
HISTORY OF ROCK N ROLL | This course will explore the development of Rock N Roll music. It will include other genres of music that influenced the beginning of Rock N Roll including Blues, Jazz and Country. We will also study how Rock N Roll has affected the development of modern music such as Rap, Indie and Hip Hop.
